VRENI
Teenage Snarker
SPECS
World/tone: Mellow and uneasy futuristic cyberpunk sci-fi. Characters are intense but have issues expressing themselves. Emotions run high but are not shown. Dialogue is lighter than the overall tone of the game, making the atmosphere easier for the player.
Age: Late teens
Vocal quality: Low pitch for a teenager. Raspy and monotonous.
Drives, demeanor: Surprisingly smart but does not trust themself. At first glance, they have a frail constitution and stamina, but their drive and resilience are stronger than they let on. Clever and snarky when alone or relaxed, but takes a long to open up. Lonely, even before the events. Desperate for genuine connection but will not seek it.
Refs: Huntress, Bird of Prey (husky, lonely, driven),
Thanatos, Hades (monotonous, cool).
Vocally stressful content: Efforts. The character has a lot of dialogue, so if the actor’s voice is not naturally low and raspy, stress will occur.
Recording location: Studio.
SIDES
(Failing a puzzle)
“Who even plays ‘Connect Three’ anymore? Might as well make me solve the Cuban Missile Crisis, that’s how topical this is.”
(Successfully solving a puzzle after multiple fails)
“Wow. This did not have to be this hard.”
SOL-DEV: I’d like to say you make it look easy but it looked anything but.
”I’m not entertaining you by answering to that.”
(arguing with their AI implant)
SOL-DEV: Maybe you should try another way. Considering you’ve tried this about four hundred times with no luck whatsoever.
“Maybe you should try growing legs and getting outta my brain to help me, you useless lump of fake neurons.”
SOL-DEV: I would hardly describe myself as useless. I got you this far, didn't I? We’re still on a mile radius from your home but it’s further than you’ve been in weeks.
”You’re lucky you didn’t come with a warranty. You’d go back to the store on an instant.”
SOL-DEV: You know I like it when you get mean, Vreni.
(explaining feelings on their parents)
Isha: (curious) What do you mean you don’t miss your parents?
“I miss them like you miss summer in September. Would I prefer to have them around? Yeah, but it’s more on a factual level than feeling yet. I know the feeling will come, though. It always does.”

SPECS
World/tone: Mellow and uneasy futuristic cyberpunk sci-fi. Characters are intense but have issues expressing themselves. Emotions run high but are not shown. Dialogue is lighter than the overall tone of the game, making the atmosphere easier for the player.
Age: Mid-30s
Vocal quality: Gentle, soft. Articulates clearly and takes time to think.
Drives, demeanor: Clearly wrapped up in her own thoughts. Reserved but empathetic. Helpful, but seems to not be fully present. Does not initiate snark but responds with the same energy to Vreni and SOL-DEV. High morality and a rigid sense of justice. Black-and-white thinking and high work morale. Idealistic, disappointed easily when others do not share her backbone.
Refs: Milo Thatch, Atlantis (passionate, sense of justice, clever),
Yana, Doctor Who, “Utopia” (sole survivor scientist, hiding something).
Vocally stressful content: None.
Recording location: Studio.
SIDES
(Player initiating conversation)
“How can I help? Can’t do much with what’s going on but I’ll try my best.”
(Reacting to the player being stuck)
“I know you can do it. I know we can do this.”
(convincing the player to take a risk)
Vreni: If we… If I fail at this, we’re not gonna make it.
”If you don’t try, no one you know will make it.”
(arguing with her AI assistant)
SOL-DEV: Y’know, I could help a lot more if I could see what goes on in that funny little head of yours.
”Fat chance. Also, my head is anything but funny… The situation is dire in here."
